About |
I have worked in the fields of participation and community development for the last fifteen years. I have been commissioned to work for numerous local authorities, the UK government's Department for International Development (DfID), IIED (International Institute for Environment and Development), Oxfam, Greenpeace, Sure Start, The Scottish Youth Parliament, Health Living Centres and many other NGOs (non governmental organisations) and community based organisations. Previous to my present role I worked for two local authorities, a University college, a charity in England, two NGOs overseas (South Africa and Belize) and as an Associate Lecturer with the Open University's Development Management Masters programme. I've worked on a number of projects including a Citizens Jury project in Higher Croft in Blackburn which is tackling obesity in a disadvantaged neighbourhood. The Community X Change project which is focussing on lobbying European policy makers and a piece of work bringing small farmers around the world together to deliberate on the need to democratise the agricultural research agenda.
