Shared Future is now 2 years old.

In that time we have supported ...

North Lancashire Social Enterprise Network and its annual social enterprise festival

Research into social enterprise collaboration for the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (IEED) at Lancaster University and Social Enterprise Lancashire Network (SELNET)

Training of local authority officers on best practice when involving residents in deciding how to spend public funds, on behalf of the nationally recognised Participatory Budgeting Unit (PBU)

Marsh Community Centre on their idea for a new community fitness centre run as a social enterprise. We recently undertook a detailed feasibility study on their behalf funded by CommunityBuilders to explore the idea further.

Trustee training and governance development to the University of Cumbria Student Union to help them better support their 'community' of students.

A seminar on Transition, Democracy and Popular Participation to the Lancaster Transition Network, in association with the PBU and the national Transition Network

Directors of Shared Future also spent time giving informal advice to prospective local social entrepreneurs and not for profit groups, signposting people to further information on setting up an ethical business or a not for profit organisation, and generally trying to be helpful.
